From my perspective, that was a hard race. I covered three or four breaks, stayed up front, attacked twice, and burnt a lot of matches. I was recovering and sitting mid pack with 4 to go when the crash went down. i needed to be further up front, but was able to maneuver around without slowing much, and then there was a gap to close. Ryan's effort with one-to-go was really impressive, but pushed the gap. i was able to close it up on the back side but was pretty gassed. Not sure where I finished, I thought about 15th. Fun race. Without the crash, I would have been at the front, and so would two or three other IJM's, so the results would be a lot different.
Jeff D is racing really well, especially considering his work schedule and travel. Ryan G is killing every prime and sprint, yet still has the fitness to be there for the one before the one that really counts...
Anyhow, my average wattage for the race was 305 and my normalized power (for those who follow that sort of stuff) was 343. Ouch! I did way to much work! Here is the file.

PR- Down the S-Curves
This is a great course. I raced with Greg and Tony and the 1-3 race for 1:15. It was a really hard race and fun descent. Here is the power file. I finished mid-pack, which is great in the 1-3 race...

Capitol Crit and Boston Harbor

Great weekend of racing. We started out with the capitol crit, lots of IJM there. I sat in for the first half of the race and there were a few attacks, but nothing too threatening. Then I attacked as hard as I could to bridge to Recycled out front solo and brought another dude with me. That was a good move and I thought it may pan out but Recycled was having bike problems and he dropped back. Chase was on. We got caught after 3 laps and then Aaron went. He managed to hook up with Matt H from Cucina and a Recycled racer. Recycled was all over the front and they needed to be in any break. Lots of bridge attempts were squashed and I really worked hard to get on wheels when I was in position to do so. They stayed away, Aaron got 3rd (way to go, man!!!) and I took 10th (7th in the field sprint). Ryan D was 6th and is one hell of a crit racer. Normalized power 329 for 60 minutes. Ouch. File is here.
Boston Harbor was Sunday, a favorite of mine. This time it seemed friggin brutal. Not sure why. I attacked and we cover lots of times, again lots of Recycled at the front. On lap 6, our last lap, while I was sucking wheel and recovering from my last bridge, the field basically broke in two. I was out of the break (10 or so guys up the road). I managed to bridge by latching on to three strong guys who were not represented in the break, and then was there with Tony. We stayed away. The sprint got a little funky, and sketchy, and I could not get a clear line. Ended up 6th overall. Normalized power 316 for 1.5 hrs, ouch. File is here. tony took 7th and looked great all day. We worked well as a team today. Jeff was always there covering and Brian was there and active too, both covering breaks and talking smack.
Two races, two top tens. I have to feel good about that. And now off to work...
